Understanding the Exchange Ecosystem

To ensure every placement is both legally compliant and instructionally successful, our ecosystem relies on three distinct, non-overlapping roles:

• The Consulting Partner (Teach In America LLC): We act as an independent administrative bridge. Our role is to provide essential support to educators, including professional document preparation, guidance on U.S. state-specific teaching licensure, assistance with international credential evaluations, and resources to help teachers manage their professional and cultural transition into their new school communities.

• The J-1 Visa Sponsor: These organizations serve as the legal backbone authorized by the U.S. Department of State. They hold the exclusive legal authority to verify regulatory compliance, vet host school placements, and issue the Form DS-2019, which is required for an educator to apply for their J-1 visa.

• The Host School District: The school district provides the classroom environment, local curriculum, and day-to-day instructional support, enabling global educators to bring their diverse perspectives to American students.

Without the consulting side, districts and sponsors often struggle with the hands-on cultural onboarding and precise credential preparation. Without the official sponsors, the legal bridge to bring them to the U.S. doesn't exist. Working "hand in hand" isn't just a good idea; it's the only way to build a sustainable, high-quality pipeline for U.S. education.
